News Update - Beta is coming to a close!
Tuesday, 08 November 2011
It looks like JetSet Expenses 2.0 beta is winding down with the last discovered bugs crushed. I delayed the release to get GoogleDocs functionality back and I am happy to report that the beta testers are very happy with the new, more reliable and simpler to use feature. I am starting the work to do the App submission and plan to have it done by the end of the week. It has been a long journey.

For those who have not read about what is new in JetSet Expenses 2.0 here are the key features in this big update:

- Full multiple currency support and when I say full that is what I mean! You can now define a base currency per expense report. So travel and be paid anywhere in the world and keep all of your expense reports together no matter what currency.
- You don't remember your exchange rate? No problem--JetSet Expenses not only will let you look up an exchange rate online but will keep track of the exchange rate you used in your expense report no matter if you travelled to the country at different times. Exchange rates are not set globally like some applications!
- Currency exchange calculations while you travel if you want to do a quick calculation between one currency or another you can based on your exchange rate. Just open your expense report and select calculator and the currency calculator will use the exchange rates defined in that report to do the calculations.
- Ability to assign favorite countries that you like to visit with JetSet keeping track of which currency you use. All of the major countries are in there as well.
- Travel databases for airlines, hotels and rental car companies are now customizable - so you can easily add your own. You have a club membership? You can keep track of that as well.
- You have favorite Miscellaneous expenses? You can mark that as well.
- Full Dropbox support with email notification. You can now share your expense reports and your photo receipts with those who may help you process the expense reports. You can device if the expense report is private or public.
- Want to send your expense report by email? This is greatly improved in 2.0. No longer must you copy and paste text out of the body of an email. Now the CSV file is directly attached to your email.
- Sending the email to the same person all of the time? Now you can set a default email address for email support.
- Full Integration with Google Docs which is completely re-written for JetSet Expenses 2.0.

The entire application is rewritten using the latest Apple technologies which include full multitasking support and Core Data - the database engine that removes the limit on the number of expense reports that can be tracked.

In preparing for the release I have once again set the price of JetSet Expenses to 99 cents. This price will be until Apple approves the new application for sale. I have also decided to remove the free version of JetSet Expenses from the App store until I have an update that shows the power of the new product.

I appreciate all of the help, support and patience. I look forward to hearing from you about how JetSet Expenses saved you money by getting your expense reports turned in on time.. and paid!
