Now the Waiting Begins! While I wait I am working on the next release, which will set up the support necessary for localization and currency support. I am looking to translate the product into French and German as a priority. I am looking for a few folks who are willing to do the text translation – I promise to make it worth your while. I am also looking to have someone compile the necessary European databases for the major hotels, rental car companies and airlines. I am not quite sure how long it is going to take to get the product localized—but getting the software ready for the localization is part of the focus of the 1.1 update. So how will currency work? My current plan is somewhat involved. What I want to do is continue to keep the program easy to use. My plan is for you to set, using the iPhone system settings, the default currency that you do business in. Failure to set this will default the software to the US dollar.
When you transmit or email an expense report then the program will translate the currency of each expense to the standard currency that you picked in Settings based on the exchange rate you defined. The end of the report will show the exchange rates for each currency defined.
I am of course interested in your feedback. You can send me feedback at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it |
