Yes by stars it is true! The update is complete and now submitted to Apple for their final testing and approval. I want to thank everyone who was in the beta program as without their help I would still be chasing bugs and not implementing the features as the users want! I will be posting new screen shots this weekend--perhaps a movie. This is a big update folks.

Well it has been a full couple of weeks since I have updated the blog. Mostly I have spent time working with the now over 20 beta testers who are working hard to bring you the next release of JetSet Expenses. It took longer than I thought it would (what software project doesn’t!) but it didn’t help that the holidays hit and a couple of weeks being held up by the worst chest cold I believe I have ever had.

I have lot of news to report on JetSet. I am happy to say that I submitted Release Candidate #4 to the testers tonight and barring any “No ship” problems I will submit the application to Apple tomorrow. Hopefully it will not take long to get this update posted, as it is a free upgrade and a big upgrade.

First off I worked to make the product more robust in data and memory management. I have to say that the update to the firmware to 2.2 has helped a great deal along with my growing understanding of iPhone programming. Remember it is all a moving target.

Are there new features? Oh yes! There are plenty along with a new and improved look for the application. Here are the new features in 1.2 of JetSet Expenses.

I know it has been a while since I updated the blog so I thought I would share with everyone the current progress on the beta.

The beta testers and I are hard at work bringing you the next release of the software. I am still a few weeks out for the release but things are progressing nicely. Again this is a free update so anyone who purchases JetSet now will get the the 1.2 update when it is released. Have a look at what has happened since 1.1 and let me know what you think! I have attached a screen shot of the new main menu of JetSet. A couple of things to note--gone is the gray screens of the past and notice the new totals! Oh did you see it is showing British pounds and dates in the European format?

Things have been busy here at BriteMac – we are actively working on JetSet 1.2 and in fact I am pleased to announce a beta test program where we are looking for a number of current JetSet customers who are interested in checking out the latest version of the software and help us guide the final steps in development.

I’d prefer current JetSet customers as they know the software the best however I am interested in those who are new to the program. A fresh perspective is often very useful.

Jetset 1.2 contains two major new features. You can now identify how you pay for an expense by applying any of 6 different payment types. In the new preferences screen you can customize this list so that you can identify what you paid cash for versus what you used your corporate credit card for. This version also contains the much requested mileage enhancement where you can identify to the software the default amount your company pays and enter start/end odometer readings.

You get this information by clicking on the word “Serial number” in iTunes when you have your iPhone selected in the left pane in iTunes.I need to limit the number of testers to around 25.
